Presentence Reports
Commonly used in federal courts, presentence reports (PSIs) are investigative reports ordered by the court to aid in determining a sentence. The report contains information about a defendant's life, education, criminal history and recommendations concerning community service, probation and restitution. PSIs may also contain a victim's wishes as to punishment of the defendant.
