State and federal laws prohibit terroristic threats. Any threat that causes interruption of public transportation or services, places the public in fear of their safety and influences the conduct of local, state and federal governments is a felony punishable by incarceration. The student who phones a fake bomb threat into a school to get a day off can be charged with a terroristic threat.
