Access to Personnel Files Policy (WI)
An access to personnel files policy defines the process for how employees can request and review their personnel files. This helps foster transparency in the workplace while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with state requirements.
This policy outlines what the review process looks like for employees, such as guidelines for requesting their file, frequency of access, and who to contact for review. Where applicable, the policy is tailored to any state specific laws relating to an employee's right to view, copy, dispute or amend their personnel file. This policy is not intended for employees covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
It is also not intended for third-party requests outside the organization except for designated representatives authorized by the employee in accordance with the policy.
