Request for Refund or Repair of Goods (CT)

Connecticut

This letter is a request to the manufacturer or producer of a product for assistance when the product is defective, or in some other way fails to fulfill the purpose for which the product was purchased. Under the Uniform Commercial Code, which has been adopted in some form by every state, the purchaser has the right to expect that a product is fit for the purpose for which it is sold; a toaster is expected to toast bread, and a car is expected to start, and transport its driver. When a product does not do what it is supposed to do, that is called a 'breach of warranty'. When a breach of warranty occurs, a consumer can expect the manufacturer to either repair the bad item, replace the item with one that works, or refund the consumer's money. This letter can be tailored to request any of these actions.
