Construction Agreement (VT)
When entering into a construction project, a written agreement can be an invaluable tool for preventing disputes and ensuring that the project runs as smoothly as possible. Without one, you are left to whatever oral agreement was made, and each party may not agree on what was said. Additionally, some states require a written agreement, depending on the type of project.
This agreement will help you clearly set out:
- The parties to the agreement
- The scope and specifications for the work
- Payment terms
- The construction schedule
- Preferences relating to dispute resolution
Note that this agreement is only suitable for where there is a fixed price and not for an agreement based on time and materials. In Florida, it also should not be used for home improvement construction in cases where the contractor is providing financing for the project.
