Job Proposal for Construction (WA)

Washington

All construction projects should have something agreed to by the contractor and property owner in writing. For larger and complex projects, a detailed construction agreement is more appropriate, but for smaller type jobs, a short job proposal could be sufficient.

This creates a simple job proposal with the following details:

  • A detailed description of the scope of work
  • The price, including whether there is a deposit
  • The parties to the agreement
  • Relevant dates
  • Basic terms and conditions
  • Spaces for owner to sign confirming their agreement

For smaller projects, this might be your only form of written agreement. For more complex projects, you may want to follow this up with a more detailed construction agreement. Note that if this proposal is for a home improvement construction project or home solicitation sale, there may be state specific cancellation notices that you should provide to the client. This proposal does not have these notices. You may wish to provide them separately, or use our more detailed construction agreement.
